The Vision Behind VisionStyleYOU

My name is Yu Yoshioka, founder of VisionStyleYOU.

The name “VisionStyle” reflects my desire to become someone who can support people not only in shaping their future vision, but also in expressing their way of being and personal style.
The word “Vision” carries two meanings for me:
• The ability to envision and design the future (inner vision)
• Visual expression and appearance (outer vision)

When I first started my business, I focused on total coordination that combined inner support (coaching) and outer support (styling), and later trademarked the concept as “Vision Stylist®.”

What began as a side business eventually evolved into broader “Rebranding Support” for people, culture, and local communities.
Today, my activities have expanded to include Japanese culture, traditional arts, and international business development, connecting people, cultures, Japan, and the world.

Moving to Tokyo from Iwate to Connect People and Aspirations

I was born in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture.
Until March 2009, I worked at a pharmaceutical company in my hometown.

Since I was young, the words “total coordination” and “producing” had always stayed in my mind.
Deep inside, I constantly felt:
“I want to do work that connects people and their aspirations.”
“I don’t want to live my life with regrets.”

As the years passed, that feeling became stronger, and I finally decided to start my own business. In April 2009, I moved to Tokyo without having a place to live or a job lined up.

Looking back, it may have been reckless. But I still clearly remember the feeling of clarity and determination I had when I decided to pursue what I believed was my mission.

The foundation of my current work comes largely from my grandfather. He ran a small ironworks factory and was a quiet craftsman born in the Meiji era — a true old-fashioned artisan. Yet many people came to seek his advice, and some even said their lives changed because of his words.

He also had a strong sense of style: work clothes while working, kimono at home, and tailored suits with hats when going out.As a child, I naturally admired his way of life, his dignity, and his craftsmanship.

When I began my business, I started with total coordination through coaching and styling.
Looking back now:
• My grandfather’s advice became the foundation of my consulting work
• His awareness of appropriate attire evolved into fashion consulting
• And his craftsman spirit became the inspiration behind my support for Japanese culture and artisans
I truly feel that the roots of my current activities originate from his influence.

Connecting Japanese Culture with the World

Today, as a “Vision Stylist & Vision Producer” working to share the value of Japan with the world, my activities focus on three main areas:

1. Supporting Japanese culture and traditional arts.
2. Supporting business owners and entrepreneurs
3. Working as Fortune Ukiyo-e Artist

I provide consulting, branding support, and event planning both in Japan and overseas for artisans, cultural businesses, artists, and entrepreneurs seeking global expansion.

In particular, I now focus on serving as a bridge that connects Japanese culture and passionate individuals with the world, helping create new opportunities and value internationally.

One major turning point was my “Re-Wa Cultural Branding” project. In 2023, while pursuing the goal of introducing Japanese culture overseas, I was invited to participate in the Japan-Vietnam Cultural Exchange Festival in Vietnam. Then, in April 2024, I organized and hosted the “1st Japanese Cultural Exchange Exhibition in Da Nang 2024” in Da Nang, Vietnam.

Through sharing Japanese culture internationally, the project led to new opportunities, partnerships, and business expansion.

In addition, as part of my entrepreneur support activities, I also organize overseas corporate visit and business matching tours, including Vietnam in 2025 and Malaysia in 2026.These activities have expanded into multifaceted branding support that combines international business, cultural exchange, and networking opportunities.

As a Fortune Ukiyo-e Artist, I also had the opportunity to donate artwork to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, which later led to exhibitions at venues such as the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, The National Art Center Tokyo, and Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre.
Through these experiences, I have once again realized the richness and depth of Japanese culture and spirituality cultivated throughout history.

At the same time, I feel there is still a lack of systems that effectively connect cultural creators and artisans with the global market. That is why I believe Japanese culture should not simply be preserved, but continuously shared, circulated, and evolved into the future.

Moving forward, I hope to continue connecting cultural leaders, passionate entrepreneurs, and overseas markets to create new possibilities for Japanese culture worldwide.

Connecting Japan and the World, Toward a Future Where Cultures Circulate and Thrive

I have two major long-term goals.

The first is to build a community where practitioners of Japanese culture and business leaders can connect with one another. Through mutual understanding and collaboration, I hope to create a sustainable cycle between culture and the economy, while also supporting international expansion and global market opportunities.

The second goal is to establish overseas routes and foundations that will eventually lead to opening a Japanese select shop abroad — with Italy being one of my future dreams.

Today, many of my clients and cultural partners wish to expand overseas or share their work internationally, yet face challenges related to opportunities, methods, and financial resources.

As my own international connections continue to grow, I hope to use those opportunities to become a bridge that helps bring the aspirations, artistry, and creations of many people to the world.

Of course, there is still much to learn, and many challenges remain regarding business scale and future development. Even so, I intend to continue taking action based on the concept of:
“Expanding and Connecting People, Products, Hearts, and Culture.” Culture. People. Communities. The world.

I hope to share the spirit, aesthetics, and cultural values of Japan globally, while creating a future where Japan and the world are connected through culture and new possibilities continue to emerge.
